WN 5 – The Journey of Life

“Some beautiful paths can’t be discovered without getting lost.” Erol Ozan.

The journey of life is such that we find the paths as we go. And many times, we find the right paths from having walked the wrong paths.

Life is a journey and someone else said:

“Dance. Smile. Giggle. Marvel. TRUST. HOPE. LOVE. WISH. BELIEVE. Most of all, enjoy every moment of the journey, and appreciate where you are at this moment instead of always focusing on how far you have to go.” Mandy Hale.

I have been blessed to experience all of that this past one month. I left my home on the 6th of August and returned to it just yesterday, the 6th of September. I have spent time with family, my family… and I have been blessed by this long visit.

I did dance. I did smile. I did giggle. I surely marvelled. I learned to trust afresh. I felt my hope soar. I learned new ways to love. I had lots and lots of wishes. And I believed, in me, in them, in God. And indeed, most of all, I simply enjoyed every moment as it came. I saw all of my sisters, the four of them, and their children, and I marvelled at how we’ve all grown. I saw their individuality, their uniqueness, the goodness God put in them and I loved them, each one of them, afresh.

I saw my dear, dear mother and I realised anew, what a blessed woman she was. And for each of my niece and nephew, I saw how our future generation is already destined for greatness — in varied unique forms.

The journey of life is a walk in progress. You just keep going. Should you fall (and you will surely fall), you pick yourself up, dust off the dirt and keep going.

I am back. I did not plan on taking a break from writing when I started on my journey, but I did. And I am so grateful that I did. It gave me time to appreciate the people around me. When I told two dear friends I was taking a break from writing, they both said: “you need to” — in different languages. It meant a lot. For the people who know you and love you will always understand you.

I am glad to be back to this path of my journey in life. Are things late, or are their perfect timing yet to come? I don’t know. I am only content to begin work again today and once more, to do the very best God will inspire me to do. At the perfect time, all things will come to be… and all stories will be read.

Like Bob Marley, I have this to say: “Though the road’s been rocky, it sure feels good to me.”

    Impossible Journey

Welcome back, thanks to God for granting you journey mercies to all the branches that you visited. Its a thing of joy to see the people you grew up with alive, healthy and making progress as well, especially our mom. Hmmmmmmm! You are so blessed to still have her. Enjoy dear.
